4 Budget-Friendly Corporate Catering Options in NYC

Catering specifically can be one of the priciest aspects of a corporate party, so you’ve come to the right place if you want to mitigate this cost. In this blog, we will discuss the cost benefits of certain vendors in New York City along with the general advantages of working with the New York Food Truck Association for large, corporate events!

As companies brace for a financial downturn, there are a few expense items that get put on the chopping block first– like, for instance, the corporate event budget. But with the holidays just around the corner, you don’t want to disappoint your employees by canceling the company Christmas party altogether. This means you have to get creative and find budget-friendly party ideas!

The Average Price of Catering

Without knowing the going rate for large party catering, it’s difficult to contextualize the benefits of food truck catering through NYFTA.

Catering companies set their pricing structure based on how many people will be attending, and traditional catering costs can be anywhere from $30 to 100 dollars a head. When we are talking about thousands of potential guests, this can be a hard pill to swallow, especially since you still have other party costs to worry about.

However, when you work with NYFTA, you can decide to opt out of run-of-the-mill buffets or stations for a more unique and budget-friendly catering alternative: food truck catering! With food truck catering, you’re sure to get the bang for your buck! Here’s why:

The Unique Cost Benefits of Booking With NYFTA

1. No late night fees.

With many catering companies, you can face something like a $25 fee per head depending on the operating hours. Thankfully, when you work with NYFTA, you avoid all of those charges and have the freedom to start and end the party at the time you please!

2. Hands-on service.

One of the major benefits of working with NYFTA to use food truck catering is that you are opting into a more hands-on experience. Through our event coordinators, all the catering logistics are handled on your behalf, and contracts are put in place so that you get the catering experience you agreed upon, no questions asked. Through us, you’re guaranteed to get your money’s worth with none of the stress!

3. Permitting and insurance handled.

In the same vein, permit and insurance paperwork can be taxing and expensive. We handle this part of your corporate catering entirely, so you can devote your time and energy to other aspects of the event!

4. No wait staff necessary.

The nature of food trucks is ‘grab-and-go,’ which means you save a significant amount of money on hiring a wait staff. Plus, the fun, interactive nature of food truck service outweighs traditional dining staff anyway!

5. Less table set up.

‘Grab-and-go’ also means you need less table and dining set up, which of course, comes with a price tag. Instead of assigned seating or typical buffet style, guests will be invited to mingle in line or around the food truck while they’re enjoying their food!

6. Relationship with vendors.

Because we have a tight-knit relationship with our vendors, you don’t have to worry about price gauging during busy seasons. We work with these vendors year round, so we are familiar with their prices, and regardless of the time of year, we can negotiate the lowest prices for you.

Wrap Up

In light of economic downturn, there are many financial adjustments companies are forced to make— one of which is reducing the company event budget. However, just because your budget is smaller doesn’t mean you can’t put on an amazing party that employees will remember and talk about for years.

Thankfully, when you book with NYFTA, you are connected to New York’s greatest food truck vendors: the best, budget-friendly corporate catering options.

A mobile business offers many advantages over a traditional brick and mortar restaurant. In cities with high foot traffic like New York, for example, a food truck is a more cost-effective way to get your dishes into people’s hands across different neighborhoods and boroughs.

However, with all the benefits that food trucks provide, there are also significant challenges that you may face given the outdoor nature of your business. As the winter season approaches, food truck owners should be asking themselves, ‘how do I keep my food truck business running in cold and snowy weather?’ Or to take this question one step further, ‘how do I keep my business thriving during these chillier months?’

Thanks to our experience working directly with hundreds of New York City’s food trucks, we have the answers!

In this blog, we will be your guide to running a food truck during the winter season. Not only will we tackle the ways you should optimize your food truck equipment for the winter, but we will also offer strategies you can implement to actually grow your business during these harsher winter months.

How to Adjust Your Food Truck Business Model For the Winter Season

1. Optimize Your Equipment

Like we mentioned before, optimizing your food truck equipment for the winter months is a sure way to keep business booming. Here are three vital steps:

Invest in Snow Tires

Driving in the snow is a feat— avoid breakdowns by investing in a good set of snow tires. Snow tires make sure that your vehicle doesn’t slip or slide and damage any food. Taking that alone into account, you’ll find that this $100-500 investment really pays off!

Check, Fill, and Replace Fluids

When winter starts, it’s necessary to check, fill, and replace fluids that keep your food truck running. So, remember to check the levels of your fluids regularly to ensure optimal performance of your food truck!

Fluids you need to check include:

  • Antifreeze
  • Windshield Wiper Fluid
  • Transmission Fluid
  • Power Steering Fluid
  • Brake Fluid
  • Engine Oil

Consider consulting a professional to get a better handle on this. An experienced person ensures a comprehensive analysis of fluids and gives you a peace of mind! Plus, proactivity can be the difference that makes your winter season profitable.

Apply Anti-Freeze in the Water Lines

As far as food truck plumbing, things get more complicated during the cold months— especially at freezing temperatures. Water tanks and lines are susceptible to becoming frozen and causing blocks. To avoid this, pour a non-toxic anti-freeze agent to the fresh water tank and let it drain through all taps.

2. Offer Winter Specials and Deals

A small incentive goes a long way. When you’re asking customers to wait outside in the cold, you should think about offering a winter special to keep people happy and your business profitable during the off-season. A discount, a 2 for 1 deal— whatever it is, your customers will appreciate a reward for their patience.

3. Create a Seasonal Menu

In addition to discounts, creating a seasonal food truck menu can really help you embrace the winter season and drive up sales. Seasonal drinks like pumpkin spice lattés, peppermint tea, or hot chocolate can play into the cold weather in a way that makes you more appealing to passerbyers and potential customers.

4. Find a Regular Stop

Even if you invest in a good snow tires, winter weather can be really unpredictable and challenging. Limit your movement by finding one (or a few) regular, bustling spots where your food truck can park. Being in a more permanent spot can help you gain returning customers because people are more likely to see you on their route home or to work, or they simply know where to find you from word-of-mouth.

Make sure that this location is visible, so that you minimize how much work potential customers have to do to find you!

5. Expand to Catering

Last but not least, you should expand to catering. Forgo the unpredictable nature of running a food truck business alone during this time of the year and shift more towards a guaranteed customer base through profitable, large-scale catering gigs.

How? Well, the most reliable and innovative way of getting business through catering is by becoming a New York Food Truck Association member. The New York Food Truck Association connects hundreds of New York food trucks to different catering events in the area. We take the pressure off both food truck owners and event planners by being the middleman that coordinates the tedious logistics of catering.

In this blog, we will briefly touch on the benefits of food truck catering for corporate events and brainstorm what holiday eats you can serve that will make your company Christmas party something employees talk about for years to come!

Your company Christmas party is an opportunity to bring co-workers together and boost workplace morale. The reality is how people feel after a get-together Saturday night definitely influences the mood in the office on Monday morning. This means your office party is an enormous opportunity to brighten and amplify your company culture!

So, here’s the million dollar question: how do you ensure that your guests will have an amazing time? From our experience, a big part of the equation is a no-brainer: the food.

Of course, there are other aspects of your holiday event that matter— the venue, the guest list, and the decor— but arguably the most important feature of any successful party is the menu.

In this blog, we will briefly touch on the benefits of food truck catering for corporate events and brainstorm what holiday eats you can serve that will make your holiday party something employees talk about for years to come!

Food Truck Catering

The New York Food Truck Association has years of experience catering for corporate events and workplaces. As our name suggests, we focus on food truck catering, and we do so because we’ve found that this alternative to traditional catering is more cost-effective, convenient, and customizable.

Connecting people to New York’s finest selection of food trucks,  we know that nothing makes a splash at a wedding, birthday party, and yes, a corporate holiday party like a deluxe food truck service. Frankly, after you use food truck catering, a typical platter or buffet just doesn’t quite satisfy you.

With that being said, here are some holiday food suggestions and corresponding food trucks that you can book this holiday season! (The food trucks will be local to New York City, but the food recommendations will be helpful for anyone!)

Let’s get started and walk through 8 catering ideas that are sure to turn your company party up a notch!

What Should I Serve at My Holiday Party?

1. Pizza

You can’t go wrong with pizza. Aside from how uncontroversially delicious pizza is, an obvious benefit to catering this cheesy delight is that it can be made quickly and at high volume. Efficiency is an unnegotiable when you’re serving as many as hundreds or thousands of guests!

Taking this into account, Pizza Vita is one of our favorite options to suggest to party planners. The Pizza Vita food truck can cook personal pies in just 90 seconds, which means no one will have any trouble indulging at your party! Plus, one of our favorite parts of Pizza Vita’s menu are the creative menu names, like ‘Grandma,’ ‘Fun Guy’ and ‘Meat Head!’ After all, who doesn’t want to laugh over a slice?

‘Tis The Season For Holiday Party Catering: Corporate Parties, Private Events, and More

Whether you’re planning a corporate holiday party or a private one, we have the ultimate guide to help you with holiday party catering this season. Keep reading to learn more about creating a catering menu, our diverse catering options, and additional tips we can give you from our years of experience working with the best vendors in New York City during the holiday season.

Once November rolls around in New York City, it’s only a matter of time before you find yourself digging through dusty, old boxes searching for your favorite holiday decorations. And with so much else going on— sending out holiday cards, gift wrapping, shopping, visiting friends and family— it can be challenging to, on top of all the madness, sit down and brainstorm the perfect holiday party.

With that being said, the holiday season just doesn’t feel complete without a holiday event to bring your friends and family together. That’s why we want to make things easier on you by helping you plan a crucial (and admittedly difficult) aspect of your holiday party: the catering.

Whether you’re planning a corporate event or a private one, we have the ultimate guide to help you with holiday party catering this season. After all, what kind of a holiday party would you be throwing without the perfect holiday eats?

Keep reading to learn more about creating a catering menu, our diverse catering options, and additional tips we can give you from our years of experience working with the best vendors in New York City during the holiday season.

Impress Your Holiday Party Guests with Diverse Local Options

Booking a catering service doesn’t mean you have to resort to a boring, run-of-the-mill chain restaurant. Especially with so many local spots going out of business during the pandemic, people have a newfound appreciation for an authentic dining experience. Offering local options at your event can create a sense of community true to the holiday spirit.

When you work with NYFTA, you’ll find absolutely no shortage of local and unique options. As our name suggests, The New York Food Truck Association focuses on food truck catering, connecting you to over a hundred of New York’s finest food truck vendors and coordinating all of the logistics of your catering event. All you have to do is tell us what you want, and we deliver.

Why Food Truck Catering?

For holiday parties in particular, we believe there are plenty of advantages of food truck catering as opposed to the traditional catering approach. Mainly, it makes a statement and leaves an immediate impression on your guests, while still being more convenient, cost-effective, and customizable than traditional catering options.

What Should You Serve at a Company Holiday Party or Private Event

Companies cut through the noise in all different types of ways, like with a catchy jingle or an expansive social media campaign. Though different in nature, you should view your holiday party as another way of establishing your brand above competitors. It’s your opportunity to motivate employees and cultivate a company culture that people want to be a part of, which ultimately serves your business goals.

With all this being said, how can you create a catering menu— from hors d’oeuvres and appetizers to holiday meals and desserts— that turns your holiday party into a special event your guests won’t forget? Let’s brainstorm.

What calls your name: hot-cocoa and marshmallows on a chilly evening, or a sweet Christmas cider? For dessert, do you think your guests will prefer peppermint ice cream or s’mores? What about pecan pie versus waffles?

Many of the same considerations will be made if you’re hosting a private event. For larger parties in general, you’ll want to think about what foods are easy to serve at high-volume, which foods are crowd-pleasers, and most likely, which are less pricey.

There are many different directions you can go, so let’s look at some specific catering options we can offer you through our hundreds of vendors.

Consider Some of These Classic Holiday Recipes

When you think of holiday foods and recipes, most of the items that come to mind fall under one of four categories:

  • coffee or hot-cocoa
  • cocktails
  • comfort food
  • desserts

Below you’ll find some of our specific menu recommendations for each group!

NYFTA’s Catering Options

Coffee and Hot-Cocoa

Coffee and hot-cocoa are two holiday drink staples. Book with us to get New York favorites like Blank Street or Utopia Bagels at your upcoming holiday event! Both of these vendors are great options because they offer a ton of variety.

Blank Street, for instance, offers specialty, seasonal beverages like peppermint mocha, salted caramel hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and holiday tea, while Utopia Bagels has a wide list of food options you can order along with the coffee. During the holiday season, this might mean bagel and lox to accompany delicious drip coffee!

Cocktails

If you’re looking to get alcoholic beverages, look no further. Two incredible options for your party are The Greats of Craft and Bubbles & Brews.

The Greats of Craft mobile bar creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfectly suited for the holidays. This vintage 1960 Volkswagen turned mobile bar has the ability to be personalized with a unique selection of craft beer, wines, and cocktails. Visit their website to learn more.

Bubbles & Brews can also elevate your event beyond your guests’ expectations, serving still wines, craft beers, and cocktails made with fresh ingredients. They also offer non-alcoholic options that can be more inclusive to all of your guests!

Comfort food

Fall Party Catering Ideas: Comfort Food, Coffee, and More

The sun is setting earlier each day, and the temperature is dropping. Weekends in New York City are crammed with fun and football as the leaves are starting to turn. Autumn is a wonderful time to take it easy and have a little fun! Celebrate fall by throwing a catered gathering, a community fair, or a workplace celebration.

nuchas empanadas catering spicy cheese

The days are getting shorter, and the weather is getting cooler. The leaves are starting to change, and New York City weekends are filled with football and fun. It’s a great time to slow down and celebrate a little! Hosting a catered autumn-themed get-together, neighborhood festival, or work party is a great way to celebrate the fall.

Fall is a season of once-a-year flavors and colors, which makes any party so much fun to plan. Familiar comfort foods can take on a whole new dimension with sweet and savory spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and of course, pumpkin!

NYC has some of the best comfort food trucks anywhere in the country. When you host a fall wedding, company picnic, corporate event, or another catered event, you can enjoy some of the best fall food available, all while supporting local and minority-owned small businesses.

Great Fall Party Food Ideas Everyone Will Love

Autumn comes only once a year, so it’s important to savor every minute. There’s so much versatility at this time of year with themes and cuisines, and there’s something for just about everyone. For instance, kids love spooky Halloween treats, and grownups love Octoberfest!

Here are some great fall picnic food ideas that are sure to be crowd-pleasers. Party planners will appreciate our really unique food truck options to make all of these comfort foods available to a group of any size. Whether you’re looking for fall appetizers like fried cheese balls or other finger foods (goat cheese and fig crostinis anyone?), or something a bit more upscale with seasonal favorites like butternut squash and other fall dinner staples for a formal dinner party, there is a New York Food Truck for you.

Cheesesteaks

Fall is the time when people bring out the old pigskin and toss it around on game day or during the tailgate. Whether it’s while watching the game with friends, or enjoying a picnic outside, cheesesteaks are football food, plain and simple!

While Philly purists might take issue with anything but the classic formula, New Yorkers know how to take the original and take it to the next level! That’s because gooey cheese, tender, savory steak, and a hoagie roll make the perfect platform to add all sorts of hearty fall flavors.

One of our favorite NYC cheesesteak comfort food trucks is Twisted Steaks. They’ve leveled up the cheesesteak with options like the “Cheesesteak Pretzel,” the “Pizza Cheesesteak Pretzel,” or even the “Bacon Barbecue Cheesesteak Pretzel!”

The fun doesn’t stop there, as Twisted Steaks also features their famous waffle fries. They’re available plain, with cheese, or “loaded.” Ditch the slow cooker chili and standard plate of nachos we’ve all had for years on end and try something new!

Twisted Steaks Cheesesteak Pretzel

Waffles

Popular breakfast chains always offer pumpkin and Halloween waffles and pancakes for a reason: they are a super fun way for kids and grownups to enjoy some delicious fall flavors and colors.

Waffles can take on new dimensions with pumpkin spices, or delicious hot or cold toppings. They can also be so much for kids with spooky ghosts or jack-o’lantern decorations.

In both NYC and beyond, Wafels & Dinges has been making some great seasonal flavors to complement their already delicious waffles for well over a decade. They have waffles of all shapes and sizes.

For a true autumn treat, try the “De Apple of My Pie Wafel,” which is made “grandma style” with dulce de leche, chunky apple jam, whipped cream, and, of course, cinnamon sugar. For a savory touch, try one of their “Baconized” items!

Craft Beer and Cocktails

Beer is tasty all year long, but fall has long been associated with this malty beverage. Gone are the days when you had to travel to Munich for Oktoberfest. Craft brewers all over the world now make delicious Oktoberfest-style beers.

The Greats of Craft Mobile Mar is the best way to bring the full flavors of fall beer to your next event. Their truck-based mobile tap room has a rotating selection of some of the best craft beer around. Not only is their beer selection impressive, but they can easily accommodate interesting cocktail options with apple cider or your favorite seasonal spices.

Fall is a great time for aromatic whiskey cocktails, and The Greats of Craft have you covered with all sorts of mixologist-created beverages.

Hand-Held Foods Like Empanadas

Fall is a great time to eat hand-held food! Most people are used to enjoying the football game with the remote in one hand, and some tasty treats in the other!

Empanadas are a complete, savory meal in a tiny, delicious package. For your next event, let Nuchas delight your guests with their take on Argentinian-inspired comfort food. They have an 18-foot food truck perfect for your next fall-themed wedding or picnic. They’re known throughout the New York Area for their commitment to using premium ingredients and non-GMO dough.

They have empanadas of every variety, including some that are a perfect partner for the fall season, like the short rib. It features red wine, peppers, onion, potatoes, carrots, and peas, along with a braised short-rib from Kansas cattle country.

They also have plenty of great vegetarian and vegan empanadas as well, including a portobello, spinach, and mozzarella version that would please even a meat eater!

Don’t forget their selection of desserts like apples, cranberries, and Nutella in a delicious almond dough, perfect for any fall party.

Mac and Cheese

Warm and savory, mac and cheese is a great choice for just about any fall gathering. There’s a reason that people consider mac and cheese to be the ultimate fall comfort food! It’s hot, gooey, and delicious. That golden cheese sauce just makes us think of the leaves falling. And, of course, many people remember back to eating this hearty food when they were kids.

Although mac and cheese is still just as popular with kids as it’s always been, everyone knows that mac and cheese isn’t just for children! No one knows that better than our favorite NYC food truck: Mac Truck.

Mac Truck keeps it fresh with dozens of fun toppings for their mac and cheese: braised applewood bacon, lobster, pulled pork, and more! One of their more gourmet combinations is the mushroom and truffle. That’s sure to be a hit at more sophisticated events!

Mac Truck Pulled Pork

Hot Dogs

This is a food that is often associated with long summer days and baseball games. The great thing about the hot dog is that it works just as well in the fall as well! Hot dogs are a perennial crowd-pleaser and great food to serve at an event.

One of our favorite hot dog food trucks is Walter’s Hot Dogs. They’ve been serving Westchester for over 100 years. Now, their great fall flavors can be enjoyed anywhere in the NYC area with their 16-foot food truck.

Try the “Puffy dog,” which combines a hot dog with fried, smashed, and grilled potato puffs. All their dogs can be paired with great sides like french fries, curly friends, potato puffs, chips, or sweet potato fries.

It doesn’t stop there. Their food truck also features sweet items like ice cream. For a great finish to your fall picnic, try the funnel cake fries!

Pizza

This is another food that is hot, cheesy, and delicious and pairs well with the fall. Pizza can be topped just about any way, to please anyone’s tastes. It’s also fantastic party food. Guests have the opportunity to try all the different pizzas, and find their favorite combo.

NYC Pizza is a great option for a fall party. Whether it’s meat lovers or vegetarians, this pizza food truck has choices that everyone will love. A great option for parties is the classic Margherita pizza with fresh mozzarella, basil, and tomato sauce.

Toppings can be added to any pizza, which can make your party even more fun. The fall is a great time for really spicy, savory flavors like sausage, but grilled chicken or savory hearty meatballs are great as well.

Burgers

Hamburgers are a great fall comfort food. There’s just something about the taste and smell of that grilled beef and smooth cheese. If you are looking for a great food truck that has some of the tastiest smash burgers in NYC, book No Good Burger for your next fall picnic.

Their 22-foot food truck doesn’t just have their signature single, double, and chick smash burgers; they have a ton of other options that will be a huge hit at your wedding, festival, or another event.

The “Farmer Kev Loaded Tater Tots” are an unbeatable addition that your guests will love! They’re crispy tater tots served with pulled pork, onion straws, bacon, and their famous bbq ranch sauce.

Birria Tacos

The complex mix of chilies, oil, and other spices makes the trendy food a great choice for the fall. They’re made from a complex, slow-roasted stew of meat and chilies, and have “gone viral” on social media.

NYC has an amazing Birria taco truck that you can reserve for your next fall-themed party. El Toro Rojo operates a 20-foot truck with some amazing options to bring your next party to life.

The Birria beef can be added to their tacos, burritos, or even enjoyed in a bowl. They also have some other hearty classics like al pastor, grilled chicken, as well as vegetarian items.

Savory Bowls

The great thing about “bowls” is that they can be customized to meet everyone’s tastes. They are a great addition to any picnic or party. Vegetarians and meat lovers alike love all the combinations that play really well together in these bowls.

Terry and Yaki’s Halal Asian Kitchen has a 25-foot food truck with some really innovative items that take the classic rice bowl to a whole new level. This is good hearty food, full of great flavor combinations that are perfect for autumn days or nights.

Their signature item is the Yaki Rice Bowl, mixing seasonal Chinese vegetables with sweet and spicy chicken teriyaki. The same teriyaki chicken can also be combined with kale and cherry tomatoes for a healthy salad. They have a vegan tofu bowl that will be a hit with vegetarians.

How about their loaded sweet potato fries? It’s a combination of their delicious chicken teriyaki, served on a bed of sweet potato fries and topped off with chipotle mayo.

Best Coffee Carts & Trucks for Your Next Corporate Event

It takes a lot of work to organize and carry out a good business event. Whether it’s a little gathering or a sizable celebration, there must be a harmony between achieving the event’s objectives and making sure everyone who attends has a good time. Having a gathering around a variety of food trucks and coffee carts will definitely wow your staff and demonstrate your appreciation!

Nitrotaps Coffee Food Cart

Planning and executing a successful corporate event is no easy task. Whether it’s a small party or a large special event, a balance must be struck between accomplishing the goals of the event while ensuring the event is fun and engaging for all attendees. Gathering around a selection of food trucks and coffee carts is sure to impress your employees and show your appreciation!

The presence of some style of food or beverage catering is a fantastic way to spice up an otherwise run-of-the-mill event. Access to refreshments offers your guests a chance to take a break from the work side of the things while simultaneously making it feel like a special event.

Mobile coffee catering is rapidly increasing in popularity as a catering option for corporate events, and renting coffee carts has become more accessible than ever.

Just about everyone has a signature drink they love to grab before work from the large coffee chains. With a mobile coffee cart, you can bring all the great local coffee options right to your guests.

Whether an employee wants a fancy latte or a simple cup of cold brew, the plethora of wonderful coffee shops and coffee carts loved by New Yorkers from every burrow will have you covered.

By hiring a coffee cart for your next event, you can support local businesses while ensuring your guests are served great coffee drinks from a friendly and skilled barista.

From Cups to Carts: A Brief History of Coffee Shops

They say the hardest part of starting your own mobile coffee catering service is inventing coffee. Luckily, that part has already been taken care of, though its exact origins have reached an almost mythical status.

One legend states that a 9th-century goat herder named Kaldi noticed how “spirited” his goats became after eating berries from a certain tree. Kaldi ran to the local monastery with his observations, where a monk then created a brew from the same berries and found he was able to stay up much later praying.

What is known is that coffee cultivation and trade began on the Arabian Peninsula sometime during the 15th century.  The popularity of the drink increased rapidly, and by the 16th century, the sale and growth of coffee had spread to Egypt, Turkey, and Syria.

Towards the middle of the 17th century, coffee as we know it today was introduced to the United States through New York.  The country’s oldest coffee merchant, Gillies Coffee, got its start in NY in 1840, and by 1876 the U.S. was importing a third of the world’s coffee supply.

Towards the end of the 19th century, NYC witnessed a boom of street food in the form of food trucks and wagons showing up on every corner. Coinciding with the increase in the popularity of coffee, it wasn’t long before mobile coffee carts began showing up on street corners as well.

The popularity of the drink did not stop there either. As of today, there are at least 3400 coffee shops and coffee carts in New York City alone. It’s no wonder New York has earned the title of “the city that never sleeps”!

Why Hire a Coffee Cart For Your Event?

So why pay for a mobile coffee cart when there is a Starbucks around every corner? Adding more to your plate (or cup) may understandably be the last thing you want to do while planning an event.

However, bringing in a coffee cart for your next event will benefit your guests as well as the local community in a number of ways, including:

Expediency

Why wait for your employees to wander off to find a Starbucks when you can bring delicious local coffee right to them with a mobile cafe? With a cart hired specifically for your event, you can rest easy knowing your employees can get their lattes and espressos nearby, and quickly. If you have a more long-term project or event in mind, consider a cafe pop-up to shine the spotlight on a local coffee business over a longer period of time.

Diversity of options

Hiring mobile coffee truck catering for your next event allows you the freedom to choose exactly the right cart to fit your needs. With as many coffee options as New York offers, you can pick a spot that is a favorite of your employees or a cart whose menu meets the needs of your event.

cappucinos and baked goods

Menu Flexibility

When catering special events, most coffee trailers will work with their customer to build a menu that will please employees and management alike. Whether you want to focus on a few signature drinks or offer some food to pair with your coffee, a coffee cart or truck can offer a flexible menu and custom quote when hired. From mocha to matcha, there’s a coffee truck that can accommodate your needs.

Support local businesses

While there seems to be a Starbucks or Peets coffee on every corner these days, the best coffee is still to be found in the smaller local shops from passionate entrepreneurs. Hiring a coffee cart for your event or party would not only support a local business financially but also provide much-needed visibility and exposure.

Give employees some pep!

While your corporate events are surely as exciting as a roller coaster, sometimes people just need an extra boost. That’s where one or more coffee stands come in. Providing coffee and other caffeinated beverages will keep your employees alert and energetic. Bonus points for some branding to leverage your event on social media when your employees share a selfie with their cup!

Meet the New Food Trucks For Rent at NYFTA

Foodies and food truck aficionados have even more reason to get excited with these great additions to the already amazing lineup of innovative and delicious food trucks that are members of the NYFTA.

It’s already been an exciting year for the New York Food Truck Association, and we’re just getting started!

Foodies and food truck aficionados have even more reason to get excited with these great additions to the already amazing lineup of innovative and delicious food trucks that are members of the NYFTA.

We’re excited to highlight these new members not just for their amazing menus, but also for how they inspire and give back to the community through minority, women, and veteran ownership. They’re all available to book for your next corporate or local event.

Let’s take a look at some of our newest members, and what makes them so tasty and unique!

The Oyster Lover

Looking for fresh oysters? You’ll definitely want to book The Oyster Lover for your next event. This minority and woman-owned truck locally sources their oysters, so they are ocean fresh.

Owner Brittany Buffaloe operates on a “sea to truck” model, ensuring the oysters are harvested and shucked just before being served to customers.

Of course, you’ll find traditional raw oysters served in a friendly to-go format. If you’re feeling more adventurous, they also have some fresh takes like garlic parmesan, jerk, mango, and four-cheese.

They can be booked for a four-hour service which includes east and west coast raw oysters and cooked oyster options. Don’t have a spot for their truck to park? They have mobile raw options as well.

If you are looking for a really immersive and experiential event, book them for an oyster shucking class, where you can learn the ins and outs of oyster shucking, as well as oyster health benefits, recipes, and more!

Nao's Caribbean Flavors

NYFTA is proud to welcome the first Haitian food truck to our list of members: Nao’s Caribbean Flavors! Carline and Tony Jean have been building a loyal following, so much so that they required a bigger and upgraded food truck to serve all their hungry customers.

Nao’s Caribbean menu features several succulent Haitian favorites. These dishes are often impossible to get anywhere else, such as:

  • Griyo a Diri Djon Djon (Fried Pork shoulder with Black Rice)
  • Griyo a Banan Peze (Fried Pork shoulder with Fried Plantains)
  • Traditional meat patties in a delicious, flaky crust.

Nao’s offers both pickup and delivery options of their thoughtfully prepared Haitian menu items throughout the Westbury area.

No Good Burger

Once found only in a brick-and-mortar joint on Long Island, No Good Burger is now available to book for parties and catering with their new food trucks. Brothers Marcello and Anthony started No Good Burger 5 years ago, injecting new life into the traditional burger place.

On their menu, you’ll find their signature blend of ground beef paired with a crazy number of variations, such as:

  • The TBJ PBJ, which pairs a burger with their specially created sweet and spicy PB&J spread, is served on cinnamon raisin toast. It’s the perfect blend of sweet and savory.
  • The Mac Daddy takes a burger and tops it with homemade mac and cheese, served on a pretzel bun
  • The Chicken Chimi Chimi is made with a chicken burger, topped with bacon, tortilla strips, and a chimichurri sauce.

Fatty's

One of the things that make the New York area so special is the convergence of different cultures from all over the globe. Fatty’s food truck celebrates this as both its owners and their dishes come from all different backgrounds.

It’s owned by the same team that brought us Cento Percento, which can be found in the Financial District, Citi Field, and all over NYC with their food truck.

Fatty’s is your spot for a mix of fun and unique burgers and sandwiches celebrating a wide range of regions and cuisines like:

  • The Dirty Bird – Buttermilk fried chicken, hot honey and chimi slaw.
  • The Tony Cubano – Pulled pork with ham and black garlic mustard
  • The $9.99 – A smash burger with onions, pickles, cheese, and signature “Fatty” sauce

They have hot dogs, sides, vegan options, and a great selection of homemade sauces as a compliment to just about any of their items.

Ms. Spudz

NYFTA is excited to welcome this unique woman- and minority-owned place to get french fry creations you thought only existed in your dreams.

Owner Pippi built on her original idea of a simple french fry cart, and eventually created a full-fledged food truck that’s much more than just a spot for fried potatoes.

The centerpiece of the Ms. Spudz menu is, of course, the fries! You can pair these fries with several sauces. Her signature sauce is “Grandma’s original,” which was created by her very own grandmother, many years ago.

You’ll also find seafood fries, potato nachos, fried fish, sliders, and, when it gets chilly outside, hot and comforting soup!

Bay Steaks

Were you under the impression that steak and cheese sandwiches were just found in that city a couple of hours south of New York? Think again.

Vinny and Owen, Brooklyn-born brothers, are doing cheesesteaks the NYC way. Bay Steaks is their latest creation, joining the already very successful Empire Barbeque.

Vinny and Owen’s focus is on the meat and cheese. Their menu is based on tender, thin sliced beef on a hoagie roll.

From there, you can choose different cheeses, onions, mushrooms, peppers, and more for the absolutely perfect combo. Speaking of combos, don’t forget the fresh fries, with or without cheese whiz.

TACO TUESDAYS MEET HAPPY HOUR AT DISCO TACOS

It’s always a great idea to wind down a long workday and enjoy some good eats and cold drinks. But, the local dive near the office is wearing out its welcome. Bring the party to you instead. Disco Tacos pairs the freshest beats with the freshest tacos this side of the border. Feeling freaky? “The Super Freak,” made with pulled pork al pastor, “will never let your spirits down.” And Disco Tacos is ready to help you wash down those tacos with icy margaritas and cold beers.

Souvlaki GR Greek Catering

SOUVLAKI GR: ‘GO GREEK’ WITHOUT LEAVING HOME

Traveling anywhere, let alone to far-flung destinations is not in the cards right now. But that doesn’t mean your tastebuds can’t take a vacation. Souvlaki GR is a “little taste of Mykonos” in New York City. This award-winning food truck will elevate your next game day gathering.
