MEET GIULIO NOTARO
The original owner, Giulio Notaro, is an Italian native and self-taught chef with a rich personal history. He began cooking on ‘The Hill’ in the late 1970s, and back then, he didn’t know how quickly word would spread about his cooking. Since then, Giulio’s food has been described as “the closest thing to grandma’s cooking,” which for Italians, is pretty much the highest compliment anyone can get. Since retiring in 2018, Giulio’s daughter Janine has found a way to keep a piece of what we all know and love alive by taking the business on the road with what is now Giulio’s Italian StrEAT kitchen. She figured that turning her father’s staple Italian restaurant and reinventing it into an Italian food truck was an opportunity to keep her father’s original creation alive, while also finding a way to do something different and innovative.
