Makina Cafe is New York City’s first food truck that offers authentic Ethiopian-Eritrean cuisine and an on-the-go cultural experience. The big yellow truck, whose menu features a variety of unique dishes including injera bread, gomen, and tasty sambusas, is sure to make your day a whole lot brighter (and more delicious!). Each dish offers the perfect blend of traditionally rich and American-friendly flavors, which has attracted a large foodie following making Makina Cafe food truck one of NYC’s most popular food trucks.

MEET EDEN

Eden G. Egziabher, born in Ethiopia to parents of Eritrean descent, was raised amidst a vibrant mix of Ethiopian, Eritrean and Italian cultures. Eden wanted to share the special dishes and recipes that define her childhood, so she started a food truck and named it “Makina,” which translates to “truck” in all three of these countries’ languages. Eden goes to great lengths to find the right spices and ingredients, which aren’t readily available in most grocery stores, to ensure the food she serves maintains the same flavors she grew up with.
