Chef Rodrigo Abrajan began his culinary journey at just 8 years old, cooking for his siblings in his hometown. By 11, he was working at a fonda, and in 1993, his cousin and mentor Jose “Popeye” Grande introduced him to the street taco business—igniting a passion that would define his career. From working in top New York kitchens to founding taquerías and now leading El Paso, Chef Rodrigo has always stayed true to traditional Mexican cuisine, sourcing authentic ingredients like sea salt from Mexico to preserve the flavors he grew up with.
