meet Salvatore
Salvatore Russo owner of Java and Gelato in New York City started his coffee journey at the young age of just 10 years old. The Russo family has a strong background in the coffee industry. Sal Sr. Started Plaza House Coffee back in 1982. Working out of his parents garage small batch roasting and door to door sales. Hard work, long days and sleepless nights Sr. took Plaza House Coffee from a dream to a lifestyle. Fast forward 41 years later, Sal jr. takes his father’s footprint to the street. Testing the concept in a budget friendly way working out of an old landscape trailer he put together with $5,000. In just a year and a half Sal has expanded into a new truck serving backyard birthday bash’s , extravagant weddings, and corporate catering.
