Green Street is Long Island’s first and only plant-based, gluten-free, and vegan food truck. Their goal is to provide healthy and delicious meals that will change the way people think about eating. There are no crazy ingredients in their food, just clean eats that taste great and are good for customers. All of their food is made from scratch daily, with goods sourced from local vendors across Long Island to show their support for various small businesses. The Green Street truck boasts a few fan favorites including their Vietnamese fries, award-winning mac & cheese, and grilled mac & cheese sandwiches!
A chance encounter with plant-based athletes during training for an Ironman in 2013 led to a life-changing decision: adopting a vegan diet. At the end of his 13th year of teaching health and physical education, the owner, Matt, changed career paths to follow his newfound passion. Matt transitioned from teaching to advocating healthy eating through speaking engagements, cooking demos, and private classes. Alongside his passion for educating others about the benefits of a plant-based vegan diet, he also aimed to create a space for the local community to enjoy this amazing food. Choosing a food truck, Matt found the mobility and ability to reach a larger number of people, providing them with the opportunity to indulge in wholesome eating. Matt’s intention is to provide high-quality food that tastes great and enables everyone who eats it to live a life worth living!
