Seafood Food Trucks in New York

There are a lot of fish in the sea, as the old saying goes. The seafood trucks in New York can also be considered fish food trucks, or lobster roll trucks, or crab cake trucks, but they all have one thing in common – fresh, full-flavored dishes. Inspired by their homeland, or their heritage, these seafood truck chefs tweak classic recipes or invent something wholly new. Sandwiches and seafood bowls, soups and chowders, shrimp and ceviche, the catch is all yours.

Seafood Food Truck Featured Dishes

There is so much seafood available in the northeast and so many ways to prepare it. Here are a few things to add to your list.

  • Maine lobster, dripping with butter
  • Lobster mac & cheese
  • Lump crab cake sandwiches
  • Miso ginger salmon poke bowl
  • Ceviche with calamari, shrimp, and mussels

Cousins Maine Lobster: Succulent Seafood & More to Your Door

The aptly named Cousins Maine Lobster food truck is the brainchild of two cousins who wanted to share their family’s lobster recipes. Of course, they’ve added a twist or two as well.  Maine or Connecticut style lobster rolls, lobster bisque, and even specialties like lobster grilled cheese and lobster quesadilla – the cousins have all angles of the crustacean covered. Clam chowder and shrimp tacos are among the non-lobster items. Starting with a single seafood food truck, they now have 20 trucks in 13 US cities, so you know it’s gotta be good.

Take a bite out of this: Lobster Tail & Tots

They call it Maine’s ultimate luxury and for lobster lovers it is. A four or five-ounce Lobster tail still in its shell is served with drawn butter and a side of tater tots. Get to cracking.

Angry Archies: Crab Cakes & Gourmet Seafood

The Angry Archies seafood food truck may have gained fame for their jumbo lump crab cakes and crab cake sandwiches, but they also dish out mouthwatering lobster rolls, crab poutine, and lobster mac & cheese. Chef Chris Curado’s time at a culinary institute in Italy and his tutelage under executive chefs in the US has resulted in some truly distinctive dishes. Chris, along with cousin and co-owner Michael Ponte, got the seafood truck going by reinterpreting “The Angry Lobster,” a signature dish at their family’s Italian restaurant.

Take a bit out of this: Crab Poutine

Poutine is a dish of french fries and cheese curds topped with a brown gravy. With this iteration, there is lump crab meat, creamy crab sauce and Sriracha Aioli in the mix. Poutine is also slang for mess and in this case, it is a delicious one.

Poke Motion: Catering A Hawaiian Classic

When Poke Motion’s co-owner Martin Casino discovered the Hawaiian dish known as poke, he wanted everybody to have it. Now Martin and his wife Dael have the only poke bowl seafood food truck in the Northeast. While the traditional poke combines rice, diced raw fish and vegetables, Poke Motion offers a variety of different bases, protein options, and vegetables, topped with their secret, signature sauces. Sesame Tuna, Miso Ginger Salmon, and Peanut Sate Chicken are some of the possibilities.

Take a bit out of this: Cilantro Lime Shrimp

This spiced shrimp bowl with a base of rice, noodles or spring mix greens also includes purple cabbage, corn, edamame, radish, pickled ginger, seaweed salad, and peaches. Fresh, tasty, and healthy.

Latusion: Latin Fusion Transforms the Bounty of the Sea

Chef Fabian Marquez grew up around Peruvian cooking. Now he puts his talent and his grandmother’s recipes to good use as the owner of the Latusion Seafood Food Truck. The fish food truck is well known for its Classic Fish Ceviche with Peruvian peppers, crunchy canchita corn, and sweet potato. The Ceviche Mixto adds calamari, shrimp, and mussels to the catch of the day. You can even get your ceviche as more of a beverage with Leche De Tigre (Tiger’s Milk), a Peruvian sauce that forms the base of ceviche with chopped fish and canchita (crunchy corn).

Take a bit out of this: Chicharron De Pescado

The translation of Chicharron De Pescado is fish and chips, but Chef Fabian kicks it up a notch with Peruvian spices and salsa criolla which is a Peruvian red onion relish.

A Seafood Food Truck is a Memorable Catch

Seafood is healthy, delicious, and a great way to feed your group. There are so many choices for guests, but if seafood is not their thing, the fish food trucks all have non-fish options too. Fried, grilled, or boiled, the fish is the dish they will remember.
