Meet the New Food Trucks For Rent at NYFTA

three people in front of deploy coffee

It’s already been an exciting year for the New York Food Truck Association, and we’re just getting started!

Foodies and food truck aficionados have even more reason to get excited with these great additions to the already amazing lineup of innovative and delicious food trucks that are members of the NYFTA.

We’re excited to highlight these new members not just for their amazing menus, but also for how they inspire and give back to the community through minority, women, and veteran ownership. They’re all available to book for your next corporate or local event.

Let’s take a look at some of our newest members, and what makes them so tasty and unique!

The Oyster Lover

Looking for fresh oysters? You’ll definitely want to book The Oyster Lover for your next event. This minority and woman-owned truck locally sources their oysters, so they are ocean fresh.

Owner Brittany Buffaloe operates on a “sea to truck” model, ensuring the oysters are harvested and shucked just before being served to customers.

Of course, you’ll find traditional raw oysters served in a friendly to-go format. If you’re feeling more adventurous, they also have some fresh takes like garlic parmesan, jerk, mango, and four-cheese.

They can be booked for a four-hour service which includes east and west coast raw oysters and cooked oyster options. Don’t have a spot for their truck to park? They have mobile raw options as well.

If you are looking for a really immersive and experiential event, book them for an oyster shucking class, where you can learn the ins and outs of oyster shucking, as well as oyster health benefits, recipes, and more!

Nao's Caribbean Flavors

NYFTA is proud to welcome the first Haitian food truck to our list of members: Nao’s Caribbean Flavors! Carline and Tony Jean have been building a loyal following, so much so that they required a bigger and upgraded food truck to serve all their hungry customers.

Nao’s Caribbean menu features several succulent Haitian favorites. These dishes are often impossible to get anywhere else, such as:

  • Griyo a Diri Djon Djon (Fried Pork shoulder with Black Rice)
  • Griyo a Banan Peze (Fried Pork shoulder with Fried Plantains)
  • Traditional meat patties in a delicious, flaky crust.

Nao’s offers both pickup and delivery options of their thoughtfully prepared Haitian menu items throughout the Westbury area.

No Good Burger

Once found only in a brick-and-mortar joint on Long Island, No Good Burger is now available to book for parties and catering with their new food trucks. Brothers Marcello and Anthony started No Good Burger 5 years ago, injecting new life into the traditional burger place.

On their menu, you’ll find their signature blend of ground beef paired with a crazy number of variations, such as:

  • The TBJ PBJ, which pairs a burger with their specially created sweet and spicy PB&J spread, is served on cinnamon raisin toast. It’s the perfect blend of sweet and savory.
  • The Mac Daddy takes a burger and tops it with homemade mac and cheese, served on a pretzel bun
  • The Chicken Chimi Chimi is made with a chicken burger, topped with bacon, tortilla strips, and a chimichurri sauce.

Fatty's

One of the things that make the New York area so special is the convergence of different cultures from all over the globe. Fatty’s food truck celebrates this as both its owners and their dishes come from all different backgrounds.

It’s owned by the same team that brought us Cento Percento, which can be found in the Financial District, Citi Field, and all over NYC with their food truck.

Fatty’s is your spot for a mix of fun and unique burgers and sandwiches celebrating a wide range of regions and cuisines like:

  • The Dirty Bird - Buttermilk fried chicken, hot honey and chimi slaw.
  • The Tony Cubano - Pulled pork with ham and black garlic mustard
  • The $9.99 - A smash burger with onions, pickles, cheese, and signature “Fatty” sauce

They have hot dogs, sides, vegan options, and a great selection of homemade sauces as a compliment to just about any of their items.

Ms. Spudz

NYFTA is excited to welcome this unique woman- and minority-owned place to get french fry creations you thought only existed in your dreams.

Owner Pippi built on her original idea of a simple french fry cart, and eventually created a full-fledged food truck that’s much more than just a spot for fried potatoes.

The centerpiece of the Ms. Spudz menu is, of course, the fries! You can pair these fries with several sauces. Her signature sauce is “Grandma’s original,” which was created by her very own grandmother, many years ago.

You’ll also find seafood fries, potato nachos, fried fish, sliders, and, when it gets chilly outside, hot and comforting soup!

Deploy Coffee

Veteran-owned and “deployed” throughout New York City, this compact food cart will prepare you for whatever battle you may face during the day. They source all their beans from some of the best roasters all over the globe.

They are available to cater just about any type of event. They’d make an absolutely great addition to a corporate event, wedding, brunch, or any other function where people will appreciate coffee drinks.

Deploy is more than just drip coffee (though it is some of the best around). They have an extensive selection of matcha, teas, and specialty drinks as well. Our favorite? You have to try the “MOAB,” which combines matcha, espresso, chocolate, and steamed milk for an explosion of flavor.

Bay Steaks

Were you under the impression that steak and cheese sandwiches were just found in that city a couple of hours south of New York? Think again.

Vinny and Owen, Brooklyn-born brothers, are doing cheesesteaks the NYC way. Bay Steaks is their latest creation, joining the already very successful Empire Barbeque.

Vinny and Owen’s focus is on the meat and cheese. Their menu is based on tender, thin sliced beef on a hoagie roll.

From there, you can choose different cheeses, onions, mushrooms, peppers, and more for the absolutely perfect combo. Speaking of combos, don’t forget the fresh fries, with or without cheese whiz.
