MEET NICKO
The history of Uncle Gussy’s Traditional Greek Cuisine began in 1971 on 51st Street and Park Avenue. What started as a tiny food cart selling typical pretzels and hot dogs was slowly introducing their mom’s homemade recipes until the demand for Greek specials was so popular that they turned it into a full-blown Greek food truck in NYC. Nick Karagionorgos, co-owner of Uncle Gussy’s, says the trick to staying in business is giving their customers what they want, which happens to be a tremendous amount of tzatziki sauce and his mom’s home cooking.
