The Maui Chop House Truck is steeped in tradition and the history of the owners. John’s father was from Hawaii and passed away when John was only 17. Always planning on honoring his father and his heritage, Maui Chop House Food Truck was born! Blending the essence of Hawaiian culture and cuisine that John grew up with, along with his frequent travels to the beautiful islands, all the best parts of the Hawaiian “Aloha culture” and cuisine were used in creating this labor of love! Our best menu items are our Mahi Mahi tacos, pulled pork sandwiches, Spam Loco Moco, and Spamburger.

John and Amanda are a husband and wife team. In 1905, John’s great grandparents came to Hawaii from Portugal. They landed in Maui to work the sugar cane plantations. For 3 generations, his family lived in Maui and Molokai. His oldest brother was born in Maui before his parents moved to Long Island. John’s father brought Hawaiian culture and traditions back to Long Island. John grew up surrounded by Hawaiian culture, and the rest is history!
